A fourth win of 2016 for Egor Orudzhev was the outcome of the Sunday race at Jerez, but a second place for Louis Deletraz was the main talking point, taking the lead of the driver’s standings.
Deletraz had started on pole, ahead of Jack Aitken, but an average start from both promoted Orudzhev to a lead he would only lose over the pit stops. Orudzhev quietly maintained the lead, with a very early stop proving the difference.
Matthieu Vaxiviere finished some way back in third, while After his poor start, Aitken held off Beitske Visser, who impressed everyone with a fine fifth place. Saturday race winner Matevos Isaakyan was sixth, with Rene Binder finishing ahead of Tom Dillmann, who could only take eighth after a poor weekend.
With just the final round next weekend in Catalunya, the points are as follows, with no fewer than seven drivers with various chances to win the title.
