CHARLES LECLERC TAKES A STUNNING WIN IN BAHRAIN!

CHARLES LECLERC DECIDED TO DO A ONE STOP STRATEGY AND PASSED 11 CARS TO TAKE VICTORY ON THE FINAL LAP!

Leclerc took the lead on lap 9 but decided to pit on lap 14. It looked like a terrible strategy but Leclerc was taking 4 seconds out of the leaders on the opening laps on his soft tyres.

Luca Ghiotto finished in 2nd passing Oliver Rowland with 2 laps to go. However, because they were fighting so much, Leclerc closed in on the leaders and passed both on the final lap!

Oliver Rowland took the lead on lap 14 and it was a question whether he could keep his tyres in shape but unfortunately, he couldn’t manage them as well as Luca Ghiotto.

Nicholas Latifi finished a strong 4th after a difficult race yesterday. He passed Jordan King on the final lap. King himself had a very impressive drive after passing a lot of cars on the circuit but he couldn’t keep a consistent ace to the leaders.

Nyck De Vries finished 6th after a difficult race yesterday as well. He looked after his tyres well and showed that he will be challenging for victories if he can have a trouble free weekend.

Alexander Albon was challenging for the lead at the first corner but Albon was being passed by the leaders and could not match the pace of the front runners and as a result, he finished in 7th position.

Yesterday’s race winner, Artem Markelov started on the soft tyres and pitted on early onto medium tyres. The strategy didn’t pay off and he only managed 8th position after passing Johnny Cecotto on the final lap.

Elsewhere, reverse grid pole sitter Nobhuharu Matsushita couldn’t make the start and as a result, he had to start from the pitlane.

Norman Nato grabbed a podium yesterday but his race only lasted a matter of 4 corners as he made contact with Oliver Rowland and resulted in a puncture and spinning off into the run off area. His car was too damaged to continue.
