Tiago Monteiro took his first ever Macau Guia race win at the wheel of his WestCoast Racing Honda Civic, as Stefano Comini took his second TCR International series title despite a valiant effort from James Nash.
Monteiro took the initiative at the start, passing both Comini and Leopard Racing teammate Jean-Karl Vernay in their Volkwagon Golfs, as Nash made a cracking start in the Craft-Bamboo Lukoil SEAT Leon from eighteenth on the grid to jump up to eleventh.
However, on lap three Sunny Wong again spun his Citroen C-Elyssee for the second race in a row, causing another red flag and meaning this race would also on be awarded only half points.
With only three laps left at the restart Comini settled in and was passed firstly by Vernay then Nash’s teammate Oriola, eventually taking fourth at the flag knowing he just had to finish in front of Nash, who made yet more amazing progress to take eighth by the flag, meaning he would end up loosing the championship by a mere 3.5 points!!!
