Kawasaki Racing’s Jonathan Rea is still confident he “can be faster” despite having a dominating day in Aragon on board his ZX-10R.
Rea has enjoyed a steller start to the season, winning the first four races quite easily in Australia and Thailand, also taking pole position for both these rounds. The Northern Irish rider is “enjoying” his successful start to the weekend as he topped the opening two practice session’s and completed his race run without any problems.
Despite his impressive start, Rea will still be wary of problems that may arise but may have more pace to offer as he bids to take his third straight pole and fifth consecutive race win.
“I don’t think we can see the full picture of everybody’s potential just from today and I think the race can spring a few surprises, we got up to speed quite fast, honestly, and pretty much reached the limit of what we needed for the bike set-up.
“During the long run we went with the base setting we had in Phillip Island and Thailand, but during that run I realised it is may be not the very best for this particular track. We had a completely different front setting at the test here in November; one I was more comfortable with. It is just some chassis balance items.”
