Daimler are to recall a total of 1 million cars worldwide. This is due to a potential ‘fire risk’, which has caused a total of 51 cars and is said to affect some A, B, C and E-Class models, as well as the CLA, GLA and GLC. These fires are said to occur due to overheating in ‘unique conditions’ when the engine seizes up and is repeatedly started up.
It is said that 75,000 of the affected cars are in the U.K., with 300,000 in the USA. Despite the 51 fires caused by the potentially faulty fuse, no injuries or deaths are yet to be recorded, with 30 of the 51 in the USA. If you own one of the affected models, you should follow the below link to the company’s recall site, where you can enter your VIN number.
