FP2: Mercedes Continue Monza Dominance

The Mercedes duo ruled the FP2 session after an impressive performance in FP1. Bottas finished on the top being followed by Hamilton in a session where Ocon completed 43laps in the final stint.

It was all new again for the teams as rain washed the track after the first free practice session. In the earlier part, Vettel set upon a benchmark which was accomplished by Hamilton.
Bottas then relegated teammate to second starting on the Supersoft tyres with a 1m21.406s . Vettel was hence pushed to third with teammate Raikkonen. Improvements were made by Ferrari drivers later as they maintained their positions in the time sheet.
Max Verstappen started off well where he was in the top 3 during the first stint but he ended up fifth. Daniel Ricciardo was not far behind in sixth sticking to teammate but they’re still to serve respective engine penalties.
Impressively Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne showed immense pace in their McLaren finishing P7 and P8. Esteban Ocon and Felipe Massa completed the top 10.
Birthday boy Carlos Sainz had a bad day as the engine of the Toro Rosso blew mid session. In the final stint of the session, Magnussen stopped the car in Sector 3 as the rear right suspension of his Haas broke.
