Jake Hill has announced that he will return to the British Touring Car Championship in 2017 remaining with Team HARD for the coming season, in which he will compete in a VW CC with RML parts.
Hill impressed fans, pundits and fellow competitors in 2016, with six top 10 finishes and a best result of fifth at Silverstone, on his way to 17th in the standings. Following a successful first full year in the championship, Hill is now hoping to improve on last season’s results and is aiming for podiums in his second full season.
The 22-year-old had been linked with a number of teams during the winter however with the majority of seats taken surprisingly early, Hill was more than happy to return to Team HARD for the coming season. Hill was quoted in saying, “I’m delighted – and relieved – that I’ve been able to get a deal done with Tony to remain with the team. The fact that I’m going to have the same guys around me can only help in my second full season, and I’m confident that we can make progress together to get the best results possible not only for me, but also for Team HARD as a whole”
Hill will once again be partnered with Mike Epps however they will be joined by rookie Will Burns, who joins the BTCC after coming second in the 2016 Ginetta GT4 Supercup.
