Power Wins at the Indianapolis Grand Prix

Team Penske’s Will Power claimed victory from pole at the Grand Prix of Indianapolis road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana. The win was the 30th of his career and makes him the fifth different winner this season.

Four time Champion, Scott Dixon finished the race in 2nd place, over 5 seconds behind Power, with Ryan Hunter-Reay took his first podium of the season with 3rd place.

Reigning Champion, Simon Pagenaud finished in 4th.

Former F1 drivers, Max Chilton (Chip Ganassi) and Alexander Rossi (Andretti) finished 7th and 8th respectively while Juan Pablo Montoya, who is only taking part in the Indianapolis rounds, managed an impressive 10th despite being semi retired.

Power’s team mate, Joseph Newgarden, only managed a disappointing 11th after receiving two drive through penalties for speeding in the pits, while

The 101st Indy 500 will take place on Sunday, May 28th, 2017 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana. The Indy 500 is the biggest event on the IndyCar calendar and will see many extra drivers taking part, among them will be F1 star, Fernando Alonso, as he attempts the second step in claiming the motorsport ‘Triple Crown’ (Monaco, Indy 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans).
