Sauber have released their 2017 challenger, the C36 has been described as an entirely new car from their 2016 predecessor.
The C36 features a brand-new livery of blue and white with a gold-coloured front-wing. The Swiss team have slipped down the pecking order since the introduction of the hybrid era.
Their 2017 car has been described as ‘redesigned from scratch’ and ‘there is not a single part that could be adopted from its C35 predecessor’.
The C36 focuses on reducing drag coefficient because of wider tyres and a switch to a focus on aerodynamics rather than the power units which have dominated the past three seasons.
Mercedes junior Pascal Wehrlein joins Marcus Ericsson in a brand-new partnership which will allow Sauber to consistently challenge for the top ten, unlike 2016 which was hugely disappointing in which the the team only scored two points.
The new season marks the first season Sauber are under new ownership of Longbow finance after the Swiss investment group bought out Peter Sauber and Monisha Kaltenborn.
