Hailed as “sexy” by Daniil Kvyatt and Carlos Sainz upon their new car’s release at Barcelona, Toro Rosso seek to step forward up in the competitive order.
Toro Rosso’s new challenger shows off a brand new livery, breaking away from the traditional livery that has been sported in recent years. The lighter blue colour on the car, holding silver bulls on the engine cover above red stripes looks very smart on the new challenger.
Aesthetics have been a big talking point upon the release of each new car this year so far, with most cars taking a similar approach in terms of the shape of the nose, and Toro Rosso have taken the popular approach.
The shark fin on the back of the engine cover is present on the car as well as a return for the latest 2017 Renault engine to the Italian outfit, following a year of Ferrari power in the 2016 season.
Team Principal Franz Tost is confident of a stronger season in 2017, following the poor second half of 2016, by sliding down the Constructor’s standings to seventh. Tost however, has his sights set on fifth for the 2017 season, and believes the regulations can work in the team’s favour.
In their first full season together (following Kvyat’s demotion from Red Bull), Sainz and Kvyat will be aiming to get the maximum out of their new car in order to have a successful 2017 season.
