Colin Turkington and Team BMR have agreed to part ways after a two-year partnership. After joining the team back in 2015, he drove the Volkswagen Passat CC to fourth in the overall standings and claiming his fifth independents crown of his BTCC career. He piloted the Subaru Levorg GT in 2016 and took five wins and three pole positions, finishing fourth in the overall standings.
Team owner Warren Scott was quoted saying “Colin has been a pleasure to work with over the last two seasons and has brought a tremendous amount of knowledge to the team.” Scott further commented saying “I wish Colin good luck for the forthcoming season and would like to thank him for all his efforts and great achievements that he has brought to BMR.”
Colin added “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Team BMR and will savour the success we shared together over the past two seasons. However, the time has come to part company and apply the focus to each of our own individual goals and needs.
Colin’s attention now turns to 2017 and is working hard on securing a drive for the season and beyond to push for further titles challenges. Who will that be with? Only time will tell.
