Roy Nissany kept up his recent good form and took a thoroughly deserved victory today in the first race of the weekend in Jerez.
Following up a positive weekend in Monza (although losing his victory on a penalty), Nissany held of the challenge of Pietro Fittipaldi who got close but ultimately couldn’t get past. In what was an otherwise quite race, Matevos Isaakyan completed the podium after team mate and pole sitter Egor Orudzhev retired after losing drive early on in the proceedings.
Championship leader Rene Binder had a muted afternoon and finished fourth, but unfortunately today the small field of twelve cars was made to look such, and only some small battles really took the eye.
Alfonso Celis Jr and Nelson Mason were well matched, however the Force India reserve couldn’t mak his way past.
The second race of the weekend is on Sunday, and hopefully we see some good action.
