A Power Unit Working Group meeting was held earlier this week, with multiple manufactures attending, including Aston Martin and Cosworth.
The FIA and FOM are currently working on plans to adjust the current hybrid engines and create a new specification of engine ahead of the 2021 season.
Back in March a meeting was held with the current manufacturers and some representatives outside of the sport. A second meeting was held on Monday, where Aston Martin, Cosworth, Magnetti Marelli and Zytek attended. It is believed that this second meeting was positive.
The next step is said to involve individual consultation with the manufacturers mentioned above. After that, the FIA and the commercial rights holder will formulate a joint proposal.
The next meeting is expected to take place in September ahead of the World Motor Sport Council meeting on September 21.
