Files takes commanding pole in Abu Dhabi

Josh Files took a commanding pole position or round two o the TCR Middle East Series in Abu Dhabi for the Lap57 Honda outfit on their season debut.

The reigning TCR Germany champion, seemingly out o a full time drive for 2017 at the moment after not being confirmed in Target Competition’s six car TCR Germany line up for this year, set a time a full 1.7 seconds faster than Davit Kajaia in the Mulsanne Racing Alfa Romeo Guilietta.

Youngster Giacomo Altoe made a huge impression on his debut for Top Run Motorsport in the Subaru WRX by setting the third fastest time with Luca Engstler alongside, making it an all 16 year old second row.

Files’ teammate Mohammed Al Owaisi lines up fifth ahead of championship leader Brandon Gdovic with the third Engstler Motorsport Volkswagon Golf of Stefan Goede taking seventh.
