2016 European Formula 3 champion and Williams driver Lance Stroll has had a difficult start to his Formula 1 career after crashing twice in pre-season testing. This meant Williams were unable to run the FW40 in the final day of the first week of testing.
Stroll has squashed rumours that he should be considered as a paid driver and has insisted he is racing in Formula 1 on talent and his performances in lower series’.
At the age of 18-year-old, nobody should criticise him because of his young age as Red Bull driver Max Verstappen started his F1 career at the tender age of 17 and has already recorded a race win.
The young Canadian was part of the Ferrari driver academy before being allowed to test for Williams, this has demonstrated he has the potential to be a future World Champion but will he be given a chance?
His Formula 1 career has had a rocky start but as Stroll developed as a driver the confidence will build. This confidence will hopefully translate into results but if the results do not come thick and fast the pressure will build on the young driver.
