The Silverstone circuit, the home of the British Grand Prix, is no longer for sale as talks have been stopped over potential buyers.
The British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC) told their members this in a statement about the sale of the circuit.
The decision was made due to the takeover of Formula One by Liberty Media at the beginning of the year.
BRDC Chairman, John Grant, said: “After further reflection and, in particular, completion of the sale of Formula 1 to Liberty Media, the board has now decided to shelve discussions about a sale and continue on a go-it-alone basis.”
The BRDC have confirmed that this decision is “not without risk” as all talks have now been closed.
Jaguar Land Rover had been interested in investing in the circuit but ended talks with the BRDC last November.
Another potential investor was Motorsport Vision who pulled out of the running in December.
The decision from the BRDC means that some background changes will need to be made throughout the club. This will take place in April at the BRDC AGM.
